Why this practice
Clear braces use tooth coloured ceramic or porcelain brackets rather than stainless steel. Considerably less visible in conversation and in photographs, with the same mechanics behind them.
Brackets are bonded on and stay on. There is nothing to take out for meals and nothing to lose, which is why fixed treatment often finishes closer to its projected timeline.
We provide ceramic braces, ClearCorrect and Invisalign, and Dr. Brianna Davydov is a board certified orthodontist. Some bites are better handled by fixed appliances, some by aligners. You will be told which and why, not sold the one we prefer.
Brackets need adjusting and progress needs checking by someone looking in your mouth. Appointments are with the orthodontist treating you.
How we assess it
Orthodontic treatment is planned from imaging and a digital scan of your own bite, not from a photograph or a mailed impression kit.
Your bite is captured with an intraoral scanner and the movement is planned before any bracket is bonded.
Roots, bone and existing restorations are checked first, because moving teeth through unhealthy bone causes problems later.
Whether you are better suited to ceramic braces or aligners is a clinical judgement, made by someone examining your mouth.

The process
Teeth and gums are checked first, because appliances do not go over active decay or untreated gum disease. Photographs, scans and imaging as needed.
Ceramic braces, ClearCorrect, Invisalign, or a combination. We explain the trade off on visibility, duration and cost for your specific bite.
Brackets are bonded and the archwire placed, then adjusted at intervals as the teeth move into position.
Brackets come off and retainers go in. Teeth drift back without retention, so retainers are part of the plan from the start.
Insurance and payment
The practice files and tracks claims for you and works to maximise your yearly benefit. Where treatment runs beyond what insurance covers, Sunbit and Cherry financing are available.

A board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a board certified orthodontist, and a restorative and cosmetic dentist, in the same office.

UCSF dental school, a general practice residency at St Barnabas Hospital, then orthodontic training where she earned the Herzberg award for clinical excellence. She handles clear aligner therapy and interdisciplinary orthodontic cases.
Board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and dental implant specialist. Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, with residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He teaches at Weill Cornell Medical Center and handles the surgical phase of implant, full arch and reconstruction cases.

No, and this is the most common mix up. Clear braces, also called ceramic braces, are brackets bonded to your teeth with an archwire, exactly like metal braces but tooth coloured. Invisalign is a series of removable clear trays. Both straighten teeth, they work in completely different ways, and we provide both.
The ceramic brackets themselves resist staining. The clear or white elastic ligatures holding the wire can pick up colour from coffee, red wine, tea and curry between visits, and those are replaced at every adjustment. Keeping the brackets looking good is largely about what you drink and how often you come in.
Usually somewhat, because ceramic brackets cost more than stainless steel and take more care to bond and remove. We give you the figure in writing at the consultation, estimate your orthodontic insurance benefit against it, and Sunbit and Cherry financing are available.
It depends on how far the teeth need to move, commonly somewhere between twelve and twenty four months, with simpler cases finishing sooner. You get a projected duration at the planning stage. Fixed appliances tend to track closer to that projection than removable ones, because there is no wear time to get wrong.
No, the discomfort is much the same and comes from the teeth moving rather than the bracket material. Expect soreness for a few days after bonding and after each adjustment, manageable with standard pain relief. Ceramic brackets are slightly bulkier, so lips and cheeks can take a little longer to settle.
Yes, and a significant share of orthodontic patients now are adults. Teeth move at any age provided the gums and bone are healthy, which is what the initial examination establishes. Discretion is usually the adult concern, which is exactly why ceramic brackets and aligners exist.
