Why this practice
Every implant case starts on a CBCT scan taken in our own office. Bone height, nerve position, and sinus anatomy are known before a decision is made, not discovered during surgery.
Dr. Gregory Shank is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and dental implant specialist who places the implant. Dr. Yev Davydov plans and restores it. You are not sent to a second office halfway through your own treatment.
CEREC lets many ceramic restorations be designed and fitted during one appointment, so fewer visits are spent waiting on a restoration to come back.
We estimate your out of pocket, file and track the claim, and tell you the number in writing before treatment starts.

The process
A full exam and a 3D scan in one visit. You see the same images we do and we walk you through what the bone will and will not support.
Stages, timeline, and cost, with your insurance benefit estimated against it. No treatment is booked until you have the number.
Dr. Shank places the implant. Most single implant appointments are done in about an hour under local anesthetic, with sedation available.
The implant integrates with bone over a few months, then the final crown goes on. Shade matched to the teeth either side.
Insurance and payment
The practice files and tracks claims for you and works to maximise your yearly benefit. Where treatment runs beyond what insurance covers, Sunbit and Cherry financing are available.

A board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a board certified orthodontist, and a restorative and cosmetic dentist, in the same office.
Cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dental school at UCSF, where he graduated with honors in prosthetic and restorative dentistry, after a physiology degree at UCLA and a general practice residency at Maimonides Medical Center. He plans and restores the cosmetic and full arch cases.
Board certified orthodontist, and an injectables and dermal fillers specialist. UCSF dental school, a general practice residency at St Barnabas Hospital, then orthodontic training where she earned the Herzberg award for clinical excellence. She handles clear aligner therapy and interdisciplinary orthodontic cases.
Board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and dental implant specialist. Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, with residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He teaches at Weill Cornell Medical Center and handles the surgical phase of implant, full arch and reconstruction cases.

Questions
Cost depends on whether you need bone grafting, how many implants are involved, and which restoration goes on top. We give you a written figure after the CBCT scan and the exam, with your insurance benefit estimated against it. We also offer Sunbit and Cherry financing so the cost can be spread over time.
Many plans cover part of implant treatment, most often the crown portion, and some cover more. We accept Delta Dental, MetLife, Aetna, United Healthcare, Guardian, Cigna, Humana, Anthem BCBS, Lincoln Financial, Optum, Careington and SIDS/ASO. We file and track the claim for you and estimate your out of pocket before you commit.
For a straightforward single implant, placement to final crown is usually three to six months, because the implant needs time to fuse with the bone. Grafting adds time. The surgical appointment itself is normally about an hour.
The placement is done under local anesthetic and most patients report less discomfort than they expected, often less than an extraction. Sedation is available if you are anxious. Soreness for a few days afterward is normal and manageable with standard pain relief.
The implant post placed in the jaw is titanium or a titanium alloy, which has the longest clinical track record for fusing with bone. The crown fitted on top is ceramic, shade matched to the teeth either side. We do not place zirconia or ceramic implant posts, so if you specifically want a metal free implant we are not the right practice and we would tell you that at the consultation rather than after.
Age on its own is not a barrier. What matters is bone volume, gum health, and general medical history. The CBCT scan answers the bone question directly, which is why we take it before making any promises.
This is common when a tooth has been missing for years. Bone grafting or a sinus lift rebuilds the ridge so an implant can be placed. We will tell you at the consultation whether you need it and what it adds to the timeline and the cost.
