The plan is simulated so you can look at the projected result and the number of stages before you agree to anything.
Aligners move real teeth in a real mouth. Dr. Brianna Davydov is a board certified orthodontist whose focus is clear aligner therapy, so your bite, gums and existing restorations are examined in person before treatment and reviewed as it progresses.
Aligners handle a great deal, but not everything. If your case needs fixed appliances or a different approach entirely, we will say so at the consultation.
How we plan it
Aligner treatment is built from a digital scan of your own teeth, reviewed with you before the first tray is worn.
Your bite is captured with a scanner rather than impression trays, and the scan feeds straight into the plan.
Impressions are taken digitally in this office, so refinements and retainers do not wait on a tray in the post.
Progress is reviewed in the chair at intervals, not by app alone.

The process
We check the health of the teeth and gums first, then scan. Aligners do not go over active decay or untreated gum disease.
Your case is mapped stage by stage. You see the projected result, the number of aligners, and the expected duration.
You wear each set as directed and change on schedule. Progress is reviewed in person at intervals rather than by app alone.
Teeth drift back without retention. Retainers are part of the plan from the start, not an afterthought sold to you at the end.
Insurance and payment
The practice files and tracks claims for you and works to maximise your yearly benefit. Where treatment runs beyond what insurance covers, Sunbit and Cherry financing are available.
Your dentists
A board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a board certified orthodontist, and a restorative and cosmetic dentist, in the same office.

She handles clear aligner therapy and interdisciplinary orthodontic cases.
Board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and dental implant specialist. Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, with residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He teaches at Weill Cornell Medical Center and handles the surgical phase of implant, full arch and reconstruction cases.

Questions
Invisalign here is quoted as one all inclusive fee, with no hidden costs or additional expenses. It covers the initial consultation, diagnostic x-rays, photos, scanning and impressions, all visits for the duration of treatment, and all aligners however many stages your case needs. A free set of retainers at the end is included, and so is a teeth whitening procedure to finish the result. The exact figure depends on your case and is given to you in writing at the consultation.
It depends on how far the teeth have to move. Simple cases can finish in a few months, more involved ones take a year or longer. You are given the projected number of stages and a duration estimate from the simulation before you start, not after.
Aligners are typically worn 20 to 22 hours a day, out for eating and cleaning. This is the single biggest factor in whether treatment finishes on schedule. Patients who wear them as directed finish close to the projection.
Some plans include an orthodontic benefit that applies to clear aligners, often as a lifetime maximum rather than an annual one. We accept Delta Dental, MetLife, Aetna, United Healthcare, Guardian, Cigna, Humana, Anthem BCBS, Lincoln Financial, Optum, Careington and SIDS/ASO, and we will check your specific benefit and estimate your out of pocket.
Usually yes, though existing restorations affect how attachments bond and how the teeth move. This is exactly the sort of thing that needs a dentist to examine in person rather than a scan mailed to a lab.
Most people notice a slight lisp for the first few days with each new stage, and it settles quickly as your tongue adjusts. It is far less noticeable to other people than it feels to you.
Tell us as soon as it happens. Depending on where you are in the sequence we will either move you to the next stage early, have you return to the previous one, or order a replacement. Do not simply leave a gap in wear, because the teeth start drifting back.
