Why this practice
Shape, proportion, midline and shade are designed and shown to you before the preparation appointment is even booked. You approve a design, not a description.
The aim is to remove as little enamel as the case allows. Where alignment is the real problem, we will tell you that moving the teeth first means preparing them less.
Digital impressions and CEREC give tighter control over fit and shade, and cut out the weeks usually spent waiting on a laboratory restoration.
Cosmetic and restorative work is the core of this practice, not a sideline. Dr. Yev Davydov and Dr. Brianna Davydov handle the cosmetic caseload.

Patients come to us for veneers from across Midtown East, Turtle Bay, Sutton Place, Murray Hill and the Upper East Side. The office is on East 55th between Lexington and Third.
The process
We look at the teeth, the gums, the bite, and how your smile sits in your face. Photographs and a digital scan are taken.
The proposed result is designed digitally and reviewed with you. Changes happen here, on screen, while nothing has been done to your teeth.
Teeth are prepared conservatively and temporary veneers are fitted so you can live with the shape before the final ones are made.
The definitive porcelain is bonded, the bite is checked, and the finish is adjusted until it looks right in your mouth rather than on a model.
Insurance and payment
The practice files and tracks claims for you and works to maximise your yearly benefit. Where treatment runs beyond what insurance covers, Sunbit and Cherry financing are available.
Your dentists
A board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a board certified orthodontist, and a restorative and cosmetic dentist, in the same office.
Cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dental school at UCSF, where he graduated with honors in prosthetic and restorative dentistry, after a physiology degree at UCLA and a general practice residency at Maimonides Medical Center. He plans and restores the cosmetic and full arch cases.
Board certified orthodontist, and an injectables and dermal fillers specialist. UCSF dental school, a general practice residency at St Barnabas Hospital, then orthodontic training where she earned the Herzberg award for clinical excellence. She handles clear aligner therapy and interdisciplinary orthodontic cases.
Board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and dental implant specialist. Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, with residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He teaches at Weill Cornell Medical Center and handles the surgical phase of implant, full arch and reconstruction cases.

Questions
Well made porcelain veneers commonly last ten to fifteen years or more, and some go considerably longer. Longevity depends on your bite, whether you grind, and hygiene. If you clench or grind at night, a night guard protects the investment.
Preparing a tooth for a veneer removes some enamel and is not reversible, which is why the design work comes first. The amount removed varies by case, and part of the consultation is deciding whether veneers are the right tool at all, or whether alignment or whitening gets you there with less.
It depends on how wide your smile is when you smile fully. Some cases need six upper teeth, many need eight or ten so the result does not stop abruptly at a darker tooth. We will show you where the line falls on your own photographs.
Yes. That is the point of designing digitally. You review the projected shape and proportion before your teeth are prepared, and you live with provisional veneers before the final porcelain is made.
They look fake when they are too white, too uniform, and too long for the face. Shade, translucency, and proportion are chosen with you at the design stage. If you want an obviously bright result you can have it, but it should be a decision, not an accident.
For discolouration alone, often yes, and we will say so. Whitening does nothing for shape, chips, gaps, or wear. Many cases whiten the lower teeth and veneer the uppers so the two arches match without treating teeth that did not need it.
